Check your Receipt...

You would be surprised at how much money you could actually save a month if you pay attention to what you are purchasing and the prices by which are stated.

Our last two visits to Walmart alone, we were overcharged on items and double charged for items that weren't even placed in our bags. Wrongly charged for an item that was scanned 3 times instead of two of one kind, and one different brand.

All in all, we saved over ten dollars! Just by paying attention and taking the time to look through the receipt.

I can also state for previous experiences, pay attention to charges on bills. You will also find tons of savings if you pay attention to your bills.

For example, Phone Bills. Phone companies tend to add as many extra fees as possible. Banking on the fact that you will not look or pay attention to your bill.

You may be thinking, "How could this be if I have an all inclusive plan?".
Oh yes! It happens, even with your plan. It will happen. You may even have blocked everything that can be possibly blocked and still be charged in areas that are "blocked". Trust me, I've been on both ends of the spectrum and it has happened. Though it should be easier to keep track of if you know exactly what your bill should be each month and what you are using. Call and talk to CS and they will credit your account ASAP. I have saved hundreds of dollars a year just by keeping tabs. Be it human error or computer error just be vigilant.

The Half yearly sale

The Half yearly sale is a wonderful sale at Nordstrom. They usually mark down most of their store with these beautiful round stickers, color coordinating to the percentage of the discount. Already discounted items have an additional discount bringing them to an all time low. Although their website also shows discounted deals, instore savings is where you'll find a more vast selection.

Nordstrom having their Half yearly sale, means, it is the perfect time to go to NORDSTROM RACK!!!! Yes, that is right! Not Nordstrom, but Nordstrom Rack. I find my best clothes there. Designer everything available for Uber low prices.

It's my "Special" store. Where I go when I desire special attire. My favorite pieces are usually from here.

In the past I have bought designer pieces for under $20.00 and dresses for every occasion for $15.00 and in some cases less. They have the most gorgeous dresses and clolthes for everyone in your family. Make sure you go straight to the sale rack and take your time looking through each item. Even if it's not your size on the sign, take your time to look, you never know what you'll find.Even bought designer sunglasses for my best friend from here because... they have a wonderful selection for, again, GREAT LOW PRICES!!!

Memorial Day savings

I find that some of the best time to stock up on items are before, during, or after a major holiday.

As Memorial weekend arrives take time to look at the specials you got in the mail for your local supermarkets. If you have a Super Walmart check them out as well. Remember Walmart price matches, you can always ask if they can beat that price you found. That way you only have to make one stop.

I recently stocked up on items we use very often like bottled water, Prego sauce, pasta, toothpaste, soda, and other frequently used items through a new store promotion, with addition to the low prices I also had The Manufacturer coupons which added to my savings.

If you are a parent, teacher, or just love candy stock up after major holidays. Don't forget to use your club cards!

Old Navy is having a sale on their flip flops for $1.00!!! Only for Memorial Day. Make sure you go and stock up for summer!

As usual for me I head straight for the sale section, I find great deals on casual clothes for my husband and myself. You will be surprised at the low prices on Men's clothing in the clearance section.

Bonus fact... it was Memorial Day, Old Navy a couple of years ago where I found work shirts for my husband at an astonishing $.25 each.

QUICKBOOKS is FREE at Staples this week.
Call me Cheap,Frugile, or just a wise steward of money... what ever it may be. God is bringing me through a process of learning the wisdom and joy of financial freedom. Although we are not there yet we are on our way and part of it is... Wisdom in spending.

If you have kids you know how fast they grow and just how expensive clothing them is. Of course the best and most efficent way to go is... Hand me downs. They are free and usually in great to fair condition. Next are Second hand either through garage sales or stores. At stores you can sell the out grown clothes and get either money or store credit. Because I love new stuff.... I always make a stop in the infants section of most stores and make my way to the clearance aisle.

To my utter delight this week I was at both Target and Walmart and found clothing and hats for $1.00.

Target has a 75% off section at the moment where you can find shirts, onesies, and shorts for a dollar and some for $0.98.
The brand is Circo and they have various sizes available for infants up to 24 months. They had other great deals in the sale section where you can find nice clothing for under $5.00 but you can't beat the dollar price. Great for stocking up or even gifting.

Target also has a great dollar section where at the moment they have cups and plates for toddlers. They also have bath toys there. I didn't want to spend $10 for the bath toys they sell normally in either store but was happy to spend $2.50 for some of the same quality.

Walmart also has a great clearance section and they are always adding to it. I found the most adorable polo dresses for $3.00, Polo Onesies and shirts all for the same price. Onesies for $2.00 and Hats for $1.00.

You can also make occasional stops at Ross or Marshalls. They have good clearance prices too. Only problem is that it's actually more difficult to find essentials but great for designer clothes at fabulous prices. I don't really go there often. Only for a very special occasion.

That's the scoop for now. Tah-Tah.
